DAVAO, Philippines — Pinangangambahang matigil sa pag-aaral ang higit sa apat na libong mga mag-aaral sa University of South Eastern Philippines na kabilang sa scholarship programs ng mga kongresista, senador at mga partylist group ngayong second semester.
Ayon kay Dr. Perfecto Alibin, ang Presidente ng USEP, posibleng hindi na mabayaran ang tuition fee sa 2nd Semester ng mga scholar kapag hindi ito napondohan ng mga mambabatas bunsod ng ipinatutupad na temporary restraining order sa pork barrel.
Pahayag ni USEP Pres. Dr. Alibin, “Ngayong 2nd Sem our problem because this scholars may not be able to enroll considering that there is a TRO from the Supreme Court about the release of these PDAF Funds baka hindi yan aabutin sa second semester.”
Dahil dito, pinayuhan na ng pamunuan ng University of South Eastern Philippines ang mga mag-aaral na maghanap ng paraan upang personal bayaran ang kanilang matrikula.
Sa ulat ng University of South Eastern Philippines mayroong 4,111 na mga estudyanteng pinapa-aral ng mga pulitiko mula sa kanilang Priority Development Assistance Fund na kabilang sa mga soft project.
Ani Alibin, “In fact, ini-aadvance ko na yan sa mga scholars and our faculty so that they can prepare their mindset and they can also prepare their money for the second semester enrollment.”
Ayon pa kay President Alibin, kung tuluyan mang tatanggalin ang PDAF ng mga mambabatas, sana ay ipatupad ito sa susunod ng taon at patapusin na muna ang kasalukuyang school year upang hindi malagay sa alanganin ang mga scholar ng mga mambabatas.
Hindi naman tutol ang presidente ng unibersidad kung patuloy pa ring idadaan sa mga kongresista ang pondong para sa scholarship program dahil mas kilala aniya ng mga ito ang kanilang mga constituents. (LOUELL REQUILMAN / UNTV News)
